Accessibility and Universal Design

Accessibility and Universal Design support for the AI at Work Starter Pilot.

Accessibility commitment

This pilot is designed to reduce barriers for learners who are new to AI, who use assistive technology, who need slower-paced learning, or who need alternative formats.

Built into this launch

  • Semantic HTML structure.
  • Skip link and keyboard-visible focus states.
  • Responsive layout for small screens.
  • Plain-language headings and instructions.
  • High-contrast BeAccessible colour palette.
  • Reduced-motion support.
  • Meaningful link text.
  • Form labels and required consent checkbox.
  • Non-colour-only checklist items.

Support options

  • Large-text materials.
  • Screen-reader-friendly documents.
  • Captions and transcripts for video content.
  • Slower-paced facilitation.
  • Alternative activities if a tool is inaccessible.
  • Plain-language recap notes.
  • Manual support by email.

Known limitations

This is a static pilot launch, not a full LMS. It does not yet include individual learner accounts, centralised progress records, automated certificates, or built-in payment processing. These should be added only after the pilot validates demand.
